Cafe Assistant, Part Time

The Wellington Farm Shop is part of the Duke of Wellington's historic estate at Stratfield Saye on the Hampshire/Berkshire border. Launched in 2005, the Farm Shop and Café offer estate grown meats, local produce and home cooked foods.

Wellington Farm Shop Café is looking for enthusiastic, customer service oriented people to join our team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, friendly, and able to provide excellent customer service. Candidates must be comfortable working with people of all ages in a fast-paced environment.
This is a customer facing role, so you need to be confident, presentable & have a can-do attitude.

The role will include: till work, delivering food, clearing tables, general cleaning, barista duties, taking payments as well as other duties. With opening hours that offer a great work-life balance, availability to work weekends is required.

DUTIES:

• Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages and addressing customer enquiries or concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café, including dining areas, kitchen spaces and equipment
• Support catering activities by helping to set up for events and serving guests as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation during busy periods
• Adhere to food safety standards and regulations at all times

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in a café or restaurant setting is preferred; we welcome those eager to learn
• Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour are essential for providing outstanding hospitality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated during quieter periods
• Hospitality: 1 year (required)
• Customer service: 1 year (required)
• Restaurant experience: 1 year (required)
